Join us for a fungi-filled afternoon with our farmer-friends Erin and David from Tiny Acres Farm. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the basics of cultivating shiitake mushrooms.
Participants will learn about the history of sustainable fungi growing, log inoculation, and log care. The group will practice inoculating logs that will stay at Wanderwood, AND their own two foot section of shiitake log to take home.
Workshop will take place rain or shine, and will include a Wanderwood farm tour if weather permits.
Tiny Acres will have dried mushrooms and mushroom tinctures available for purchase. Wanderwood produce will also be available for sale.
Kiddos ages 5 to 12 are encouraged to join for FREE accompanied by a paying adult! (Please let us know if this is your plan when you purchase your ticket.)
About Tiny Acres Farm:
Erin Donahue and David Andrews, owners and farmers at Tiny Acres Farm in Montville, have a passion for growing organic mixed vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, and more! They made their dreams of building a sustainable regenerative farm come true in August of 2020 when they moved their Tiny House across the country and broke ground on their property. Erin and David came to farming with ten years of experience in the food and beverage industry, so they are obsessed with quality produce and quality flavor! Tiny Acres is pleased to offer many culinary varieties of produce not available or known to their markets in Maine.
